Shading Sampler

Strategically placed motifs borrowed from nature provide the perfect arrangement to learn several shading techniques. Shading Sampler is stitched all in silks with touches of metal threads, however the methods learned in this class can be applied to other threads.

Techniques include: realistic, Or Nué, counted, satin, knotted stitch, ombre, pointillism, optical mixing, and multi-directional stitch shading techniques; Italian couching, the importance of value placement in all shading techniques, how to alter stitch direction to achieve design requirements.
