Spirit of the SeasonScroll down to see large picture Santa winks as he points the way to the true Spirit of the Season. His expressive face, flowing beard, and clothing come to life with several shading techniques. The gold star is highlighted with a bead nest nestled in a wrapped stitch, and the pine trees are created of wonderful blackwork patterns. Learn the easy way to create depth and dimension as you use your needle and silks to create the joyous Santa. A in-depth study in realistic shading, Spirit of the Season employs both basic and enhancement techniques. Stitching time will be allotted in class for experimentation and to practice the methods with the help of the instructor. In addition to realistic shading and how easy it is to do, we’ll also learn how to enhance the gold star with beads, plus four blackwork patterns. The instruction booklet contains ‘work-in-progress’ photos which make completing the project easy. Basic color theory as it applies to depth perception and shading will also be discussed.
