Victorian SplendorScroll down to see large picture If you’re ready to learn the skills to carry you beyond the intermediate level stitching skill, all the while creating a beautiful evening bag that you can really use, this is the class for you. The roomy and attractive evening purse has space for the necessities required for a night out, even your glasses, and is embellished with some spectacular silk and metal on canvas effects. The purse is a tri-fold with 1" side and 1 ½" top and bottom gussets. Material is supplied for an optional metallic twisted cord shoulder strap. The front flap features a graceful scroll of gold or silver metal leaf with an initial of the stitcher’s choice nestled within its curves. Techniques studied while stitching the Victorian Splendor evening bag are: application of pearl purl bullion, diagonal trellis both over padding and without padding, metal/silk composite patterns, winding and using koma, couching Japanese metal, and invisible couching of twisted cord. Complete finishing instructions are included. No professional finishing is required.
