Good Lickin'Scroll down to see large picture A fun-loving design, filled with special memories! Red and white candy canes of Christmas are displayed within a partial border woven of gold and scarlet. Backing the Good Lickin’ candy is a spray of greenery placed against gold gilded white Congress cloth. The gilding will be applied prior to class to allow for proper drying, but the process will be described in detail. Good Lickin’ is an in-depth experience in learning shading techniques. Learn the easy way to create depth and dimension as you use your needle to bring these candies and ribbon to life. Good Lickin’ is a study in realistic shading techniques, focusing on methods for primary and secondary motifs. Extensive stitching time will be allotted in class for experimentation with the techniques. The focus of this intermediate level class is the realistic shading techniques, how easy they are to learn and do. However, we will also cover directional shading, textural shading, and a complex, counted border. The instruction booklet contains ‘work-in-progress’ photos which make completing the project easy. Basic color theory as it applies to depth perception and shading will also be discussed.
